How does your recipe fit within the Australian guide to healthy eating?
This dish contains many sweets and sugary products, such as vanilla, dates, cream and brown sugar. This dish does not contain any foods with good nutritious value, making it quite unhealthy. According to the AGHE guidelines, this dessert would scale towards the unhealthy section and should be eaten sometimes, not regularly.
How did you delegate the tasks during the cook with your partner?
My partner and I both collected the ingredients. I began to chop the dates into thin pieces and then boiled in with water onto a pan. Then, I added bicarb soda whilst my partner began beating the cream butter and sugar until it became fluffy and pale. My partner added the vanilla whilst I added the teaspoon of sugar. My partner added the eggs to the mixture and combined them until they smoothened. Then I poured the mixture onto the tray and began t bake the puddings in the oven. My partner finished the caramel sauce and I cleaned the dishes. Finally, my partner and I finished baking the pudding, and we poured the caramel sauce over the meal to finish the product.
What aspects of this cook did you find difficult and how did you overcome these?
I found that trying to speed up our production and work rate might have been challenging, because we only completed the dish about 3 minutes after recess. I overcame this problem by using my cooking time more efficiently and maintaining a good flow of speed while cooking.

This dish was rated a 5 out of 5. The decision was made because the caramel sauce added with the date pudding made an excellent combination that was very tasty. I also enjoyed creating the flavourful sauce and creating the mixture of the date pudding.
What new skills did you learn this week?
I learned many new skills throughout the process of cooking this meal. I learned how my first ever desert. I also learned how to create caramel sauce and how to make cake styled dishes.

The exact origins of the sticky date pudding with caramel sauce is unknown and disputed. However, Francis Coulson and Robert Lee developed and served the dish at their Sharrow Bay Country House Hotel in the Lake District, in North West England, in the 1970s. It was originally named sticky date toffee pudding, in England during the 1970's.
